In January of 2020, the Quds Force Major General, Qasem Soleimani, was killed while in a motorcade at the Baghdad International airport by a United States airstrike. His death set the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, his organization, on its ear, with revenge as their only goal.

Arash Hasham Hoosmand, a colonel in the Quds Force, was charged with exacting the revenge of Soleimani in the United States.
